Great Heated Outdoor Pool, reasonably priced for a family, don't forget to pack sunscreen as the pool has no shade over or near it, though there are some shady spots on the grounds to hide from the sun, old-fashioned in the sense you burn the soles of your feet getting to the pool, but a great way to float away a couple of hours of a hot summers day. A little kiosk with drinks and icypoles and ice creams available on site and lifeguards in attendance around the pool. A large inflatable obstacle course comes out for 6+ in the deep end, with a person dishing out pool noodles as you slide off. We can't wait to go back
Beginning of season 2022 update:
Unfortunately our first swim back at our favourite local pool, was soured by “life guards” who are far more interested in talking to each other, than keeping the patrons under close watch.
My 7 year old began to panic as she had accidentally gone a little out of her depth, she was literally at the feet of the 2 life guards. They were so engrossed in the conversation with each other, that they didn’t even notice! As I was supervising my child and swam to her to help, she was ok.
But when I raised the issue of the lack of response from the life guards, I was told that as my child is under 10, she should be supervised.
So I guess this means that if you attend the pool with a child under 10; don’t expect to receive any assistance if they do begin to drown….. because they should be being supervised by parents, and therefore the life guards have no duty of care toward them?
2021-22 review:
Perfect place to visit on a warm summers day.
Prices are reasonable,
The pool is solar heated which makes getting in the water pleasant,
Lanes open for both swimming laps and general public play,
Shallow end suitable for kids and the deep end is 2.5m deep- so depth works for everyone, regardless of swimming ability,
There is a fenced off toddler paddle pool- sometimes the local duck family will join in to share the space,
Limited kiosk,
Lawn areas surrounding the pool allow for picnics under the shade of the trees,
Change rooms, showers and toilet facilities.
Swimming lessons run during the school holiday period.
Open throughout the summer months.
Family favourite!!
Belgrave Swimming Pool reminds me of my local pools when I was growing up.
Very clean and easy to see the kids at all times.
The trees offer plenty of shade on those hot days which is a bonus!!
Parking is a little restricted and the food is expensive with not too many options, however still happy to give a five star rating, as this little pool in the hills
is just so delightful.
Found this place post lockdown as it was closer to home and outdoor swimming felt safer. While the 33m for Kai swimming was at first a bit strange I’ve grown to love the distance.
Family swimming is also great with safe shallow space and the deep end is perfect to extend kids skills while easy enough for me to keep them near.
Friendly staff and good price for casual exercise or family fun.
Great old skool outdoor pool, quirky 33m length, lots of fun for laps or mucking around on a warm day.
A nice pool that is often under utilised. Some snacks and simple hot foods available. The changerooms are old but adequate. There are sometimes challenges for the kids, with rewards for certain numbers of laps swum. The life guards are friendly and attentive. Being an outdoor pool, it is not open all year, however the water is warm during the summer months.
